Piggyback Attachment Systems and Riser Clamps For Offshore Development Projects

Harold Engineering has developed "Piggyback" expertise and remained at the forefront of technical developments since the inception of Piggybacking several years ago.

During this period, "Piggybacking" has advanced beyond its founding concept (i.e. the simultaneous lay of one pipe on the back of another), and the Piggyback Attachment System has been adapted to provide several new solutions.

  • The attachment of ancillary flowlines to carry inhibitors and stabilisers (e.g. glycol and methanol) or water and chemicals for lifting purposes.
  • The attachment of electrohydraulic umbilical bundles, control umbilicals or electrical cables to operate template system wellheads.
  • The securing of flare cables and, increasingly, Flatplacks.

  • The securing of all kinds of auxiliary equipment to pipelines - e.g. buoys and spoilers.
